Social Media Input-At Fort Myers Middle Academy, we take pride in our history and our ripple effect in the community. However, with recent confusion between our school and the Department of Juvenile Justices' Fort Myers Academy, we are considering a name change. We want to hear from you—our stakeholders—on whether we should return to one of our original names, Fort Myers Middle School, which many remember fondly. Please share your input and help us decide whether to embrace this opportunity to reclaim our past while continuing to move forward. Your voice matters! Note: An “Other” option is available for additional suggestions or comments. Also, our mascot, "The Ripple," will remain the same as a constant symbol of our school’s strength and unity.

Principal's Message

As the principal of Fort Myers Middle School, I am privileged to lead this esteemed institution dedicated to fostering learning and personal growth. Our school proudly serves as a community partner alongside United Way, upholding the strong legacy established over the past 69 years. I am grateful for the strong relationships formed within our exceptional school community, where we maintain the highest academic and social development standards for our faculty, staff, and students. My unwavering commitment is to uphold our school's mission of providing a top-tier learning environment, prioritizing the well-being of our students and the pursuit of knowledge for all team members.

Fort Myers Middle School is committed to creating a stimulating academic environment with high standards for every student's intellectual and social development. To further this commitment, we are expanding our educational offerings by introducing the unique World Language Academy. This program, exclusive to our school, will allow every student to learn a foreign language and earn high school credit before they leave Fort Myers Middle School. Our dedicated administration and staff, who are the backbone of this distinctive program, are focused on providing a wide range of courses and learning techniques to cultivate well-rounded individuals who are ready for success in high school and beyond. Our ultimate objective is to prepare our students with the skills and knowledge necessary for personal, career, and college success in an ever-evolving world.

Fort Myers Middle School is proud to be recognized as an AVID and Cambridge School of Excellence. We are dedicated to incorporating innovative teaching methods in our classrooms to nurture critical thinking and creativity among our students. As a Community Partner School in the district, we are privileged to have United Way on our campus, providing valuable resources and support to our students, families, and staff. We are deeply grateful for their unwavering commitment to the Fort Myers Middle Academy community. We eagerly anticipate continued support and opportunities to enrich further our students' learning experiences, community, and faculty and staff.

I am filled with optimism for the coming year, which I believe will be truly remarkable with your invaluable support. I extend my sincere thanks to our exceptional parents, who are not just a part of our school community, but an integral part of their child’s academic journey. As we continue our tradition of excellence at Fort Myers Middle School, I am wholeheartedly dedicated to exploring new ways to meet the needs of all students, ensuring that they feel valued and supported in our school community. I am also committed to improving communication with parents and community members. This year, a primary focus will be to involve our parents in their child’s educational community actively. We will be establishing the Fort Myers Middle School Parent Teacher Organization, providing parents and community members with the opportunity to convene regularly to ensure that essential needs and activities are nurtured, fostering a robust school-family bond within the school environment.

You are cordially invited to our SAC meetings, which are held on the first Tuesday of every month. These meetings provide an excellent opportunity to stay informed, share your thoughts on school decisions, and collaborate with us to enhance our school community. I am eager to meet you and benefit from your valuable input.

Educationally,

Dr. Brian L. Gibson, Principal
