We are incredibly proud of 7th grade language arts teacher and FMMA alumnus Mr. Jeffrey Cason, who recently earned his Masters in Reading from Grand Canyon University!

Mr. Cason, who has been teaching for 3 years, was born right here in Fort Myers, FL, and is a product of Lee County Schools! He attended Franklin Park Elementary, Fort Myers Middle, and Fort Myers High School before earning his BA in Middle Grades Language Arts from Florida Southwestern State College.

Mr. Cason's favorite thing about teaching is "having the freedom to create fun, engaging activities for the kiddos. I recall when I was in school that the most impactful learning moments were when 'fun' was attached to them. It excites me to see my students enjoying themselves while diving into academic content."

On the topic of teaching at FMMA, his alma mater, Mr. Cason reports that it feels downright amazing to be back on campus! He knew FMMA was the right choice for him because of all the schools who wanted him on their staffs, FMMA was the one that felt most "like family": "The administration is always super understanding and gives me space to create content, and provide my personal touch on standards-based learning. I also love the fact that I get to teach students that come from the community that I grew up in. Being from this community, I feel I can personally connect to the students and build significant relationships between us."

In his free time, Mr. Cason enjoys writing, listening to music, and snacking (especially on Smart Foods White Cheddar Popcorn!)! His dream vacation would involve a trip to "somewhere away from humans, like Saturn or Pluto," where he could really indulge in spending time with himself!

We are so proud of you, Mr. Cason! GO RIPPLES!
